Problem of the Day |
| Using a problem of the day gives students a chance to practice all the math concepts they are acquiring and practice those skills that have already been taught. By giving a problem of the day students must make connections to previously taught material. Problems solving also gives students a change to make those connections to new ideas. Many times students can begin to solve a problem using their own methods. Later this new knowledge can be connected with new concepts and gives the students a basis for learning. Students begin to use problem solving skills in new and different ways. The end result is for students not be afraid of tackling problems and to use any and all knowledge to arrive at a solution. |
