Communication Main

Furthering communication with teachers, parents and the community is a goal of this EdTech grant. Through this grant, several programs have been put in place that enhance communication. The iCATS continue to use the Internet to communicate with teachers by using the EdTech website to post information as well as the EdTech listserv to communicate with all the teachers in the grant . The teachers use the listerv to share ideas and feedback on the lessons that they have created.

In addition, two EVSC high schools script, film, edit and produce a monthly program that is shown on local television stations in Evansville. This program the EVSC Community Link is produced by students at Bosse High School and Central High School. All EVSC teachers have access to their own webpage. To assist teachers in posting information, the EVSC has created a drag-and-drop web template for teachers. Each teacher now has their own webpage that they can easily update. The EVSC schools also have the capability to use IP Video Teleconferencing. Teachers can connect with other teachers within our corporation or to outside providers to further students understanding in many curricular areas. The participating schools have hosted a Family Math Night. These events allow teachers to present new math ideas in a fun manner. Children and parents work through the math concepts presented. The Family Math Nights have allowed for communication about math curriculum in a casual atmosphere. They have all been very successful.
