Community of Learners |
| This EdTech grant brought teachers together from different schools. We wanted to help them create a community of learners both within the walls of their school and also between all the schools that were involved with this grant. From the beginning of this grant all teachers have worked with others in different schools. The teachers began the first summer building hands-on concept based lessons. These lessons were posted so all teachers have access to them. Teachers began teaching these lessons and then reflecting on them. In this way lessons continue to change and evolve as the teachers reach new levels. Team Plans have helped with this process giving them a time to discuss their teaching. |
| Teachers were given the book, "Professional Learning Communities That Work: Best Practices for Enhancing Student Achievement," by Richard Defour and Robert Eaker. This book gives a plan for creating a learning communities and how they can in turn promote student learning. |
