Following these first steps, teachers began forming different needs. The next step was to begin to integrate technology into the lessons that the teachers were writing. As technology became more embedded in the teachers lessons, new needs arose. Teachers needed to transport information from workshops and from computer to computer for the students to use. To make this easier, jump drives were given to all the teachers.
Presentation stations which consisted of a computer, projector and document camera were put in all the schools. The presentation station helped teachers as they began to teach using more manipulatives in the classroom. A wireless presenter mouse was also included so the teachers weren't so tied to the presentation station. Schools now see the advantage to these presentation stations are trying to add additional equipment as they have funds to do so.
iCATS assisted in all of these technology areas to make sure that teachers were comfortable with the new technologies and were successful in using them in their classrooms |
