The EVSC ICATS Pod Academy was established in 2006 to explore and experiment with the uses of the iPod in the classroom. Members of the Pod Academy include two Integrating Curriculum and Technology Specialists (ICATS) and 9 Teachers from the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation (EVSC) in Evansville, Indiana.
Jerrad Gleim Jerrad Gleim has been with the EVSC since 1999.  Jerrad taught mathematics at Helfrich Park Middle School for 8 years before becoming a member of the ICATS. Jerrad did podcasting with his students at Helfrich Park the last year he taught there. He is going to use his middle school podcasting experience towards helping teachers in the EVSC with podcasting.

Amanda Batts has been with the EVSC for nine years as a vocal music teacher.  She taught six years at Washington Middle School, and currently teaches at F. J. Reitz High School.  Amanda directs two show choirs and two concert choirs at Reitz, and enjoys incorporating iPod recording technology with her classes.

David Dimmett has been with the EVSC since 1995. He has been an English teacher, coach, and is currently an assistant principal at Harrison High School. His areas of interest include professional development, brain-based teaching strategies, and successful transitions from middle to high school and high school to post-secondary life.

Amy Garness joined the EVSC in 1998 as an elementary Special Education teacher.  As technology coordinator for Dexter Elementary, she has initiated many new technological advances.  As an avid Mac user, she has become very interested in podcasting.

Douglas Johnson has been an educator for 28 years.  He has taught at Washington Middle School since 1990, serving as a science teacher and technology coordinator.  He has also taught high school biology, and was Coordinator for Gifted and Talented Education in the Columbus, Indiana schools.  Doug has presented at the Indiana Computer Educators (ICE) conference, and has an abiding interest in using electronic technology to enhance students' understanding of the natural world.

Carrie Aiken just finished her first year with the EVSC as the General Music Teacher at Glenwood Middle School.  Her roles include teaching general music, directing the Glenwood Middle School Choir, producing the Glenwood Daily News, and co-producing the Glenwood Drama.  Carrie received her Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Evansville and her Master of Vocal Performance from Baylor University with a concentration in Opera Performance.

Tim Wilhelmus Tim Wilhelmus has been with EVSC for 12 years as a High School English Teacher. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Wabash College, teaching certification including a computer endorsement from Indiana University and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from the University of Southern Indiana.
