| Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 Goes to Gettysburg |
| This is a full day workshop I will be presenting at the Indiana Computer Educators Conference in Indianapolis in January 2007. Check back soon for more information. The information below is from the conference web site and printed Registration Guide. |
TWF2104: Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 Goes to Gettysburg
Using video footage and still pictures shot on the battlefield, still pictures and maps from the Library of Congress and other sources, and music, the workshop will create a sample video that calls upon the basic features of Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. We will import and edit video, import and animate still pictures (Ken Burns effect), import and edit sound, and work with simple green screen effects, all using multiple video and audio lines. The workshop will serve as a basic introduction to Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 but assumes a general level of comfort with computers. Due to the limitations of time and equipment, the workshop will demonstrate capturing video, but participants won't actually capture during the workshop. Throughout, the workshop various tips about shooting good video and audio, composing for video, establishing an efficient editing workflow, and setting the groundwork for good editing in general will be presented.

- iCATS Work
- Title II D Enhancing Education through Technology Grants
- High Tech -- this grant was one of the iCATS' first. It served teams of middle school and high school teachers in Evansville. This site has been moved several times, and the links may not all work anymore.
- Ed Tech -- Beyond the Textbook is currently a work in progress. It serves third, fourth, and fifth grade math teachers in five EVSC elementary schools. The EVSC Community Link explained below is a portion of the EdTech grant.
- My Current Projects
- EVSC Community Link -- the EVSC Community Link is a special class at Bosse High School in Evansville, Indiana. Students in the class create a monthly video program broadcast on local public television.
- Feel the History -- this is a newly created class for the 2006-2007 year at F. J. Reitz High School in Evansville, Indiana. Feel the History students create history documentaries that air on our local public television station.
- Sample Curriculum
- World Studies -- this is a class I taught in the 1999 - 2000 school year, and although the page design is clumsy, I am still proud of the fact that it represents, in essence, an online plan book for an entire year of Pre-International Baccalaureate course work in a combined English and world history sophomore class. This site has been moved several times, and the links may not all work anymore.
- Personal Projects
- tshughes.com -- this is my personal site, used only part time. It includes a section dedicated to during the Golden Age of Hollywood cinema. I created this section on Movie Houses in conjunction with a presentation we made for the Vanderburgh County Historical Society.
